A Microsoft Word Add-In that would include the following functionality:
A 'Save As / Save to LexWorkplace' button in the Word ribbon that allows users to save documents to LexWorkplace; either documents that are not already in LexWorkplace, or perform a 'Save As' as an additional way to make a copy of a document.

Thanks Alexandra J., this is great input. There's a similar Feature Request for this, so I'm going to merge this into that one. This is definitely on our radar.

LexWorkplace Product Team: This should also be available when saving as a new document from an existing LW document. It also should be available with PDFs. Frankly, we are losing a lot of time saving locally and dragging into LexWorkplace. It also creates a lot of room for error.

Alexandra J.: Thank you for the input. This is definitely on our roadmap, closer to the top of the list. Stay tuned!

Commenting to add a distinction between "Save as" > same version vs. new version. Lex generally has some versioning issues that I think are also planned or mentioned.

Also, adding PDF to the list that needs to be directly Saved As to LWP without needing to save to desktop and dragging over.

It is essential that a Microsoft Add-in (for both word and excel) gets created. It is imperative that we have the ability to do a save as directly into Lex Workplace. Failure to create such a feature will likely result in my firm discontinuing this program.

Jason Oldenburg: I agree with Jason - this is super important. As is being able to save as a PDF directly into LW. All this going back and forth between the desktop and LW is going to result in mistakes.

Lisa S.: that this program and several others which purport to be DMS lack such basic features is really astounding

Spencer S:
Agreed. I've been in the legal biz for years - when I started I had a real life legal secretary, no computer, no cellphone. I marked up docs by hand. Fast-forward to 2022, and for the most part we are our own assistants (except for those in corner offices at Big-Law) many still working remotely. DMS has to work seamlessly and efficiently.

Lisa S.: Lisa and Spencer, thank you both for the input. This feedback is very important for product development, so I appreciate the time.
There is a separate Feature Request for Adobe Acrobat Add-In, I'll add both of you to that FR (upvote). That's definitely on our roadmap.
Thank you.

Lisa S.: Lisa you seem like you have lots of knowledge I’d love to pick your brain on DMS as I’m grappling with what option to choose. I don’t want to run afoul of any forum rules but you can easily locate me not many lawyers named Spencer s

Please work on integrating LWP with the MS Office suite. Right now, I cannot save directly from word, excel, etc, to LWP. If I create a new doc in word, I have to save it to my desktop and then drag it over to LWP. It creates a cumbersome extra step that also creates risk management problems. If a file doesn't get transferred, and then gets deleted, thats a huge problem. While the work around of saving to the desktop is easy enough, it creates a problem that could have significant implications.
Please work on this. I see that it was raised as a request back in 2019, but its still not there.

Thank you for the feedback Nathan! I'm going to merge this into an existing feature request.
