This would be helpful, but in addition to Adobe, with other PDF software, like Foxit PDF Editor

I'm a new user. I think this feature is absolutely vital.

I’m new here and this thread, which is highly-relevant IMHO is over 2 years old. Has there been any progress with adding an Adobe add-in to Lex? Is there a timeline for rolling this out?
LexWorkplace Product Team
Rhonda J.: Hi Rhonda J., welcome to the community! This feature is definitely on our roadmap (planned), though the exact time is TBD. Given the demand is relatively high, I would expect we'll build this late 2024 or in 2025.

Hi everyone, a note that some of you may find useful:
You CAN still drag pages from one PDF to another (for instance, adding a page from "Exhibit A" to an existing PDF "Exhibit B"). To do this, open both PDF from LexWorkplace. Then, in the Page Explorer section (left sidebar in Adobe Acrobat), drag any page to the corresponding PDF tab (top of Adobe).
I think some users may not know this was an option in Acrobat. (And this is a slightly different process if you're used to doing this in Windows Explorer).
If anyone would like clarification, please feel free to reply here and I'll reach out.
Thank you all.

LexWorkplace Product Team: The issue is that you cannot save a PDF directly to LexWorkplace. For instance, if you save a word doc to PDF, you have to save the PDF locally and then drag to LexWorkplace. It is a big time suck!!
LexWorkplace Product Team
Alexandra J.: Yes, 100% agreed. This would be one of the capabilities of a future Adobe Add-in.

Hi Maria and Juliana - Thank you for sharing your feedback. Yes - I would be very happy to jump on a call with screen sharing with you both, and demonstrate your workflow (and how you'd ideally like LexWorkplace to function). I will email you both individually shortly to schedule a call.
Thank you both!

Hi Judith--thank you for the suggestion. To clarify:
You CAN do everything you mention in Adobe Acrobat. Do you mean to suggest you feel this would be better done in LexWorkplace, not in Acrobat?
Thanks in advance.

LexWorkplace Product Team: I know that.... but what I cant do is to have open multiple folders, subfolders at a time (in Lex)( and most importantly.... to simply drag what I need to Adobe from Lex.... like I used to do on the S Drive.

Maria
Lex is the most frustrating system and not really functional for paralegal work.

I cannot open multiple folders, subfolders files and simply drag them into AdobeAcrobat in the order that I want/need to process... how in lex can I have multiple folders subfolders and files open to drag into Adobe... The same is true for creating sharefile links....in the past I could Zip a folder and drag into Sharefile to create a link.... I cant create zip folders in Lex and drag over into sharefile....
M
Maria
I would be happy to demonstrate how I used the S file system and for you to find a way to replicate in Lex... Just let me know the day and time and I will have three paralegals meet with you to show you what we do on a daily basis and see if you can find a way for Lex to do it in equal to or less steps....

Juliana
Maria: our firm is having the same issue! We are also frustrated; this major limitation was not made clear in the demonstration. I have made several attempts to set up a demonstration, exactly as you have offered, but I have yet to receive a proper response. It's very disappointing. I hope you have better luck than I have...

Juliana: A large part of my job involves manipulating and maneuvering files throughout the system, to share with others. I am accustomed to having multiple screens, with multiple folders and files open so that I can drag and drop into applications like Sharefile or Adobe. Also, I Zip files and extract files often and cannot seem to do this easily in Lex. The go around with Lex seems to involve downloading files one at a time to a another drive (desktop or download drive) to process documents and it adds many more steps taking much longer and there is a greater risk of loss of data integrity. I'm also used to having my files organized in a specific way which is impossible in Lex. And that 1/2 scroll screen (that displays only a few files, folders at a time is not practical.

Juliana
Maria: Judith you summed it up perfectly. Our firm processes and organizes files in the same exact way. Data integrity is a huge risk and yes those "few" extra steps it requires definitely stack up.
I'm willing to bet many other firms feel the same way. I received a follow up at last! I hope to see this prioritized and worked on promptly.

Maria: I'd also like to hear a follow up after Judith and Juliana demonstrate their work flow and how LW team advises. I need functions to easily drag from LW to other platforms (adobe, dropbox, docusign, etc). If there is a workaround suggested after these meetings, can the LW team please include instructions on this thread?

Allison Surowitz: Hi Allison - I agree with you 100% and following this thread for an efficient go-around. The go-around that I was given is not efficient and is very cumbersome and risks data integrity. For Lex to work in the paralegal world or for anyone who manipulates and maneuvers files around, there needs to be the capability to open a folder and have access to work with all the files in that folder and to be able to have multiple folders open at the same time and moreover the ability to select a group of files and drag and drop. Also to be integrated with the various applications we use on a daily basis. Lastly, I tried to search for a file the other day and could not because none of our historical records have been tagged. That would involve someone going in and tagging a gazillion records... who has time and resources to do that and to do it accurately. My job requires using applications that are functional and efficient.
