I second the comments below... this would be an incredibly helpful feature. One that other DMS programs seem to have.

It would save so much time if you could just drag documents from LW into an open Outlook message instead of jumping through hoops to attach them with the add-in, which doesn't work on Mac.

drag and drop for email

Please make it possible to drag files over to email. The plug in is clunky and its aggravating to have go through a bunch of separate file trees in order to attach a file that seems like I should be able to drag and drop.

Thank you all for the input--this is very useful. I've updated the feature request to incorporate everyone's input.

Thank you all for the input!
To clarify, how exactly would you like this functionality to work?
For instance, instead of clicking 'Add to Lex' in Outlook, you'd like to be able to... drag an email from Outlook to a matter in the LexWorkplace web interface? (From the Outlook window to the LexWorkplace/Chrome Window)?
Thank you.

LexWorkplace Product Team: It would be best if the drag and drop function can operate like File Explorer. In File Explorer, you are able to click and drag items (whether it be one at a time or multiple) into File Explorer or to another window such as an Outlook email, desktop, or web file upload. We need to upload document to the state portal quite often and it is a huge waste of time to have to download the file, save it to the desktop and then upload it to the website. In addition, the ability to drag within the LexWorks file from folder to folder is also a necessary feature.

LexWorkplace Product Team: I use a Mac and have never been able to get the Outlook add in to work. My understanding of the request is that it would be useful to simply drag a file from LW into an email instead of having to download it from LW (and unzip the file if more than one file is needed from LW) and then get it into an email, sometimes having to save it to another file first.

LexWorkplace Product Team: For me, the idea would be to be able to drag a document from LexWorkplace to e-mail.

Alexandra J.: Yes, that's exactly what this feature request proposes. There's definitely demand for this feature, so I think it's likely we'll add it.

I agree with Brent. That would be much easier and more efficient.
