Improve Launcher detection of closed documents
T
Tim Atler
Sometimes the Launcher thinks I have a document open when I do not. This usually happens when I close a document and then attempt to reopen it later the same day. It can be five minutes later, an hour later or sometimes several hours later. Even after I check the document in or remove the document's "in use" status (unlock it) in LexWorkplace, I still receive an error message like the one in the attached picture when I try to open the document.
The quick fix is to "Download a Copy" of the document or to load it locally from the Recents menu item in my PDF program or in Word. But if I do that and make any changes, they will not be synced to LexWorkplace, which defeats the purpose of LexWorkplace. Restarting my computer also usually fixes the problem, but that is a big disruption to my workflow. I am hoping this is something that can be smoothed out through an update to the Launcher so that it works consistently.
