LWP sync with Clio Drive
LexWorkplace Product Team
That's great to hear! Yes, what most of our clients do is keep each app open in seperate tabs, side-by-side, OR--one app per monitor (if they have 2+ screens).
Let me know if you'd like to brainstorm process more, down the road.

Perhaps I haven't comprehended how to work with documents from LWP because I'm finding it very cumbersome to move or copy them (export) into Clio or to attach them to emails. I'm receiving some pushback on moving my clients from email attachments to sharing from LWP. I need more information on what the client sees, what steps are required for opening, and what the client can do with the shared documents.
Related, but different, I'm not seeing documents saved in Clio being accessible from LWP after setting up the link between LWP and Clio Manages using the command from LWP. Using Clio in the document handling actions allows for better timekeeping entries for billing.
Is there a comprehensive guide for understanding and using the link between LWP and Clio? If not, why include it in your marketing of LWP?
LexWorkplace Product Team
T MARK BLAKEMORE: You really aren't meant to move docs from Lex to Clio or vice-versa. In general, the intended use (if you use both applications is):
Use Clio for Case/Practice Management
Use LexWorkplace for Document/Email Management
And your right, you won't see docs in Clio from LexWorkplace, because that's not the intended use.
Yes, our guide to our Clio Manage integration is available here: https://help.lexworkplace.com/docs/clio-manage-integration
Mark, let me know if you'd like to jump on a phone call to discuss further.

LexWorkplace Product Team. Thank you for the link to the guide. It contained some helpful tips. To include emails in the DMS provided by LWP, I link them using the LWP Outlook Add-on. However, to gain the benefit of timekeeping and billing efficiency that Clio Manage offers, I save the LWP-saved emails into Clio using its Outlook Add-on. Is there a better way to avoid the two-step email-saving procedure?
LexWorkplace Product Team
T MARK BLAKEMORE: No, there isn't, if you choose to save emails to both systems. That said, a suggestion: You might consider ONLY saving to LexWorkplace, but using Clio's timer feature to capture time spent working with emails.
Happy to discuss/brainstorm more. -Dennis.

LexWorkplace Product Team. Thank you, Dennis. I'm ready to move past the misunderstanding I had during the onboarding period for LexWorkplace and Clio Manage about the extent of their integration that paralyzed my thinking and enhanced my frustration with both systems. Your comments and suggestions today provided the breakthrough I needed. I'll keep both platforms open while working between both using LWP for document management and email searchability, and Clio Manage to manage the clients and matters. No more attempts to load or management documents in Clio, other than using Clio timers when working with documents out of LWP. I can see now how the routine may develop. Developing templates using Clio Draft from LWP-stored docs and saving the templates and matter documents created using the templates may be the next challenge for developing the symbiotic relationship required for my practice to become more efficient. Thanks again for your responses.

Hi Mark, thank's for posting.
I don't see this being built in the foreseeable future. Storing documents in Clio Drive would be counter-productive to using LexWorkplace, because you'd lose much of the DMS functionality.
Is there some specific functionality (the "why" behind your request) you'd like to see?
