New Functionality
New functionality around 'Recent Client/Recent Matter', with two Parts:
- Global Search
The global search drop-down, when a user clicks in (but before they start typing) would show:
* Most recent 3 clients
* Most recent 3 matters
- Recent Global Drop-Down
* 3 Columns:
* First column: Most recent X documents (current/existing functionality)
* 2nd Column: Most recent X Clients
* 3rd Column: Most recent X Matters

The ability to see Documents, Email, and Notes in a single page or feed, chronologically (most recent to oldest).
This would enable users to see all items (documents/email/notes) that have been recently added or changed for a given matter.

It would be great to have a "Recent Matters" column on the home screen. The column could include the five or ten matters in which the user was most recently active. This would eliminate the need to search for the same frequently-used matter every time the user comes back to the home screen on LW (which can have a long list of matters spanning several pages). I think the column view would be more useful than a drop-down menu, which requires an extra click to see what it is hidden inside. On that note, perhaps in the future the user can decide which columns to display on the home screen to best suit their needs (for example, My Open Matters is not particularly useful to me but it may be for other users). Just some thoughts and suggestions - thanks for all of your hard work on LW!

Tim Atler: Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, we're actively considering a few variations of this, including something like your idea (which I like). And including the idea to "pin" or "favorite" a matter, keeping it a click away.
Yes, we're also planning to allow for more customization of the Home screen (Dashboard), allowing users to show what they want, and hide what they don't.
Thanks Tim.
