Having the document number at the bottom of a document is good, but knowing which version of the document you have open or printed is super important. Versioning is nice, but when you are looking at a document you need to be able to identify the version you have open or are sending to someone else to work on. Document identification is really important. I know things are voted on here, but this is one of those things that is part of a DMS.

It would be nice if, when a copy of a .docx file is downloaded, the file name included the version number that was downloaded. For instance, if I downloaded version 32, 47, and 56, when i come back to my downloads folder a week later i'm just going to see file name, file name (1), and file name (2) in that folder with no indication of where in the drafting process they originated.
